You just said “yes!” to your other half and now you have started planning your perfect day, but no wedding is complete without your bridesmaids! Finding a unique way to ask your closest friends to be a part of your big day can be difficult, but don't fret! You have come to the right place to help you figure out the perfect plan to pop your own question!
Here are some creative ways to ask your girlfriends to be your bridesmaids!
Break the News with Fortune Cookies
If Chinese is your go-to comfort food then why not incorporate it into your proposal? Make a night of it by ordering too much takeout and watching your favorite rom-coms together. Once everyone has stuffed themselves on their orange chicken and egg rolls hand out your custom-made fortune cookies! You can find these unique treats online and have a cute saying put on them or keep them simple with “Will you be my bridesmaid?” on the iconic paper inside.
Group Ask At a Workshop
Workshops have been popping up all over the US, so why not add this trending into your wedding plans? One fun workshop you could take all your girls to is a DIY floral arrangement workshop just like the one at Julie’s Flowers of Geist. Make plans ahead to go in and have your friends favorite flowers out and add a little note to each station asking them to be your bridesmaids.
Another fun workshop you could take the girls to is a Board and Brush workshop where you all get to make your own signs! Go in early and make a sign that simply reads “Will you be my Bridesmaids?” that the instructor can show as the “example” and then everyone gets to create their own sign to take home just like these ladies at Brush & Board.
Single Sips at Your Favorite Place
It can be hard to get the whole group together, so if you need to ask the girls all separately make sure each ask is personal and special! You can do this by meeting up at each of their favorite places to grab drinks! If that's coffee, get there early and ask the barista to write “Will you be my bridesmaid?” on the cup when you go up to order. And if you're catching a late night drink at the bar, ask the bartender to let you write on the napkin and serve it with their drink. Either way, your new bridesmaid is bound to feel special and excited!
All Of Their Favorite Things Bag
If you really want to make each bridesmaid feel special and loved, create personal goodie bags for each person filled with all of their favorite things! Pack a box up with confetti, glitter and treats to send via snail mail to all of your girls. Add some mini rosé, a small planner, a candle or something unique for each person with a note asking them to be your bridesmaid on your big day. Plus, getting something in the mailbox will also be a unique twist they won’t expect as a bridesmaid proposal!
Matching Tees, Robes, Mugs, Etc…
One of my favorite things about bridal parties are the matching shirts, so why not get an early start and buy all your girls something that makes you all twins! The options are endless, so if you want to play it safe just order some adorable bride and bridesmaid t-shirts or robes. But, if you want to be really unique you can find all kind of bride and bridesmaid gear online. Some of my personal favorites included swimsuits (and you get to make plans for your bachelorette beach trip) and mugs (you can add the ask on the bottom so they only see it once they have finished their cup of joe!) because they are so different, useful and fun!
Sweets and Treats For The Bridesmaids
Bakeries all over the world have special cookies, donuts, and cakes available every day, so why not take advantage of them and ask your girls to be your bridesmaid with a sweet treat? A really neat cookie that I have found unique is a large cookie with one circular cut out that reads “Will you be my bridesmaid?” with two little circular cookies that say “Yes” and “No” that will fit into the hole of the big cookie! Add a personal touch to this trio with a fourth cookie with each bridesmaids name! Delicious and adorable! One of my favorite local cookie companies is Mama’s Cookies out of Westfield.
Get Away and Ask Away
If you really want to make a big deal about your bridesmaid proposal you can plan a trip to one of your favorite places! This ask is super unique and personal to each bride, so you really get to make it your own! A really fun idea for the get away and ask away theme is calling ahead to the hotel you're staying at and asking them to decorate the room for you or seeing if your super mom or future mother-in-law can go decorate it for you (and get a room for them to celebrate with you)! Or if you’re really going big plan a whole trip to one of your favorite places on Earth (probably Disney right?!) and have a shirt for each bridesmaid once you get there to give them before you head to the Castle! This ask is sure to make a lasting impression and create amazing memories!
I really hope some of these bridesmaid proposals inspired you as you get ready to pop the big question yourself!
